2. Quotes and Rates

Quotes provided by DC Global Logistics are based on the information supplied by the customer at the time of quotation.

A quote may depend on factors including:

  • Origin and destination

Additional charges may apply when shipment details change, documentation is incomplete or inaccurate, cargo requires additional handling, or government, carrier or other third-party charges change.

3. Customer Responsibilities

Customers are responsible for providing complete and accurate information and documentation required for their shipment.

This may include:

  • Commercial invoices

  • Packing lists

  • Certificates of origin

  • Importer and consignee information

The customer is responsible for ensuring that the information provided to DC Global Logistics is accurate and complete.

4. Customs and Regulatory Compliance

DC Global Logistics may coordinate customs clearance through a licensed customs broker and may assist with documentation and compliance requirements.

However, customs decisions, inspections, examinations, duties, tariffs, classifications and government requirements are ultimately determined by the applicable authorities.

Customers are responsible for providing accurate information regarding their goods and complying with applicable import, export and regulatory requirements.

Additional duties, taxes, penalties, storage charges, examination fees or other government-related costs may be charged to the customer where applicable.

5. Prohibited and Restricted Cargo

Customers must disclose the nature of their cargo accurately before shipment.

Certain goods may be prohibited, restricted or subject to special handling requirements, including hazardous materials, regulated products, controlled goods, food products, pharmaceuticals, perishables and other commodities regulated by government agencies or carriers.

DC Global Logistics may refuse, delay or cancel transportation of cargo that:

  • Is prohibited by law

  • Has not been properly declared

  • Requires documentation that has not been provided

  • Does not meet carrier requirements

  • Creates a safety or compliance risk

The customer remains responsible for any consequences resulting from inaccurate or incomplete cargo declarations.

6. Carrier and Third-Party Services

DC Global Logistics may arrange transportation and related services through airlines, ocean carriers, trucking companies, warehouses, customs brokers, insurance providers, agents and other third-party service providers.

The services of such providers may be subject to their own terms, conditions, tariffs and limitations of liability.

We may rely on these providers to perform portions of the transportation or logistics service and are not responsible for matters outside our reasonable control.

7. Ocean Shipments and Direct Consignment

Where specifically agreed, ocean shipments may be arranged on direct carrier bills of lading and consigned to the customer.

The exact carrier, routing, documentation and commercial terms will depend on the shipment and applicable carrier requirements.

Any service arrangement involving direct carrier contracts remains subject to the applicable carrier’s terms and conditions.

8. Delivery Times

Estimated transit times and delivery dates are provided for planning purposes only.

Shipments may be delayed because of:

  • Weather

  • Port or airport congestion

  • Carrier schedules

  • Customs inspections

  • Government actions

  • Documentation issues

  • Security requirements

  • Mechanical or operational problems

  • Labor disruptions

  • Natural disasters

  • Other events outside our reasonable control

We will make reasonable efforts to communicate material delays when information becomes available.

9. Warehousing and Storage

Where warehousing or storage is arranged, applicable storage, handling, receiving, palletizing, deconsolidation and other facility charges may apply.

Customers are responsible for providing timely delivery instructions and collecting or arranging delivery of cargo within the agreed period.

Additional storage or handling charges may apply when cargo remains at a facility beyond the agreed period.

10. Insurance

Cargo insurance may be available upon request and subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable insurance provider.

Unless insurance has been specifically arranged and confirmed, customers should not assume that their cargo is fully insured against loss, damage or delay.

Any insurance claim will be subject to the applicable insurance policy, exclusions, limits and claim procedures.

11. Payment and Charges

Customers are responsible for paying all agreed freight charges, customs-related costs, duties, taxes, storage fees, delivery charges and other applicable amounts.

Payment terms will be communicated in the applicable quotation, invoice, service agreement or other written arrangement.
